I love carousels and this one was so beautiful that I had to take a picture of each animal. I think the lion is one of my favorites. I think they take me back to when I was a little girl and wanted to own one--a carousel, not a lion. Although I guess I would have taken one if someone had tried to give it to me. I wanted a horse to keep in my room and feed it sugar, I could have kept a lion too.
I love carousels too! The one at our zoo was built for the 1932 World's Fair in Chicago and came here in 1937. They almost always have a wonderful history.

What a rush of memories that come when I see this photo. I love it. I think I can hear the music and smell the popcorn and cotton candy. Thanks!
Treva,
Thanks for sharing this beautiful sculpture. I guess that it's hand-crafted? :)

Hi Treva, This is a magnificent carosel lion. I've maybe only seen one other in my lifetime! Thanks.
There's an antique shop near my home that has a few of the old carousel animals. I always look and wonder where I could put it in my home. I love them! Great photo!
Teva,
WOW! What an amazing carousal so bright and detailed I love it. Thanks for sharing. This is one of my favorite pictures of this speechless Sunday.
Treva, That is a beautiful picture from that carousel. Thanks for sharing.
The carousel brings back memories of my childhood when we used to go to the county fair. Lots of fun.
