Speechless Sunday on Lake Conroe!

One of the things that I love about living in Spring TX is the close access we have to Lake Conroe. We love to sail and within 30 to 40 minutes we can be at the lake. Yesterday the heavens opened and we had a day of rain (all day long) so it was wonderful to see the sun today. Along with the sun we had some incredible winds which are great when you are a sailer. I hope you enjoy our day at the lake!

I have to thank Myrl Jeffcoat for teaching me how to do the slideshow. She has written a wonderful tutorial if you want to learn how to animate a slideshow.

Marcel, WOW, I am SO impressed with the slide show and it is good you posted the link because the second I saw it I wanted to know how you did it! OK, besides that, I love the photos. What can be better than a day at the lake???

GARY, That fish was fun! She was very relieved to get a reprieve from the cooking pot. She took off like nobodies business.

MARIAN, Actually it was a fairly good sized catfish but the guy who caught it was in a nice mood and thought she was pregnant. So that way there will be lots more fishies to catch.

STEVE, It was a fun day! Now taking my camera on the boat was a bit of a ride. Usually I sit on top and then roll across the boat as we tack but with my camera I stayed below and have the bruises to prove it.

JANE, Isn't that fun. I loved it when I saw it on Mryl's blog and asked her how she did it. She was kind enough to provide a tutorial.

WILLIAM, MISSY & CYNTHIA, If you decide to get the program my own problem was getting it live on Active Rain. It makes it in to a GIF file and for some reason it wouldn't work when I put it straight to the rain. After emailing Mryl I ended up uploading the GIF file to my own website and then just entering that URL in to the Rain and it worked.

DEBRA, Thanks! It was a fun day at the lake. I love the way the slide show works also. When I saw Myrl's I knew I wanted to know how to do that. I really love that about the rain!!!

KIM, It was one of those picture perfect days at the lake. It was a little windy but that's what you want when you are a sailor.

JACKIE, It was a fun day. My husband had planned to take our sunfish out but the winds were too heavy for it so it was nice to be in a 25 foot sail boat.

TERI, Thanks! I love spending a day at the lake!

ROBERT, I have always loved the water and boating. Growing up we had a motor boat but to be quite honest I enjoy the sail boat more. There's nothing quite as relaxing!

CAROLE, Thanks! Having grown up in the muddy waters of Kansas I also appreciate our clear water.

JESSE, It was a fun windy day to be on the water and I still have the bruises to prove it.

JIM, If you have not seen the lake since 1994 you would be totally amazed. Back then there would have been lots of waterfront which is not almost completely taken up with houses fronting the water.

Great post Sharon I have a place in Conroe over in Harbor Town I think across from were the sail boat picture was next to the light house. We have been enjoying a lot of great days this year and it looks like you have been doing the same with the new restaurants on the lake it is really becoming a place to set up shop for as long as you can! KEVIN, I sure thought I replied to your comment but I don't see a reply. We are LOVING all the new restaurants on the lake. We stopped at Sam's Boat on the way home that day. I guess next time we will have to check out the one that is opening up.

MYRL, I'm loving the slide show. I just did a couple of them on a bee swarm that was in our front yard.

DIANE, These were all taken from our Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I just went on vacation to Orlando and didn't take it and my sister got so tired of hearing all my lamenting.
