Wow, I remember Sears & Robuck and Co. do you ?
When
............
we ordered through a catalog all the furniture and necessities for our first born through a catalog and had to pick it up at the store!!!! Most of our clothes and even some folks ordered their home through a catalogue? We would go to the Sears Catalogue Dept., stand and browse the catalogue and place our order.
How times have changed....keep reading
Today, in the current age of technology, instead of a catalog that I had to go to the store to look at, I can go online, put in the subject and hundreds of online catalogs come up, I can order and have my order delivered to my home, and pay for it with a piece of plastic!
I don't recall ever using a credit card back then, not even a check so I guess it was cash only. Do you remember how we did back in the late 50' early 60's.
I'm sure there are many more stories from you just like mine so let's hear them.
Another thing I remember is putting everything ordered from the catalogue and put in lay-away for Christmas and paying weekly to get out in time for Christmas.

Howdy there Carl and Ceil
I sure do remember Sears and Robuck and Co. The main catalog warehouse, was located in K.C., Mo. It sure was big. If I remember right it was a 4 story building. It was built with red bricks. It was a real fine looking building. We used cash to pay for the items we ordered there.
Very fine post Ceil. Thank you, for the real good memorys.
