You want controversy? I've got it right here....

I have now been blogging for several months. AR has literally been the NUMBER 1 reason why I have found myself so busy lately. It has driven more traffic to my website and has generated more leads for me than anything else (outside of my sphere).

At first I blogged once or twice and then sort of quit. Of course I saw nothing in return. In my office I had heard of others using it and how it was beginning to work so of course I jumped right back into it and began blogging just about every single day. I actually got featured a couple times and the traffic has become more frequent than when I was PAYING for Google ads!

I started noticing that there are Active Rainers who are featured on almost a daily basis. They have like 1 trillion points and to be honest I started thinking "How does any Realtor have time to blog all day long"?? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy getting the points and watching myself climb up the Franklin Tn ladder but isn't this supposed to be a boost to our business? If it does boost our business then how the heck can we STILL spend all day everyday blogging?

Back to what I was saying earlier... It has been SUCH a boost that I haven't found the "daily" time to blog! I have literally had to wake up earlier and start earleir JUST to make time for everything in my day.

I am sure that some of the best Realtors on here might be the top Rain Makers but the question is, "If that's the case then how come you are not out on listing appointments or showing houses"? Maybe you wake up even earlier than me, stay up later than I do, have an assistant...who knows.

I know it is a vicious cycle. I mean, you must blog to get the traffic but once you get the traffic how can you have time to blog? This creates more listings, showings, leads to call, etc etc etc. and on top of that, you've got family, and some of us take a day off:) Clients first...blogging second.

BoxingToday, I have found some time to do what has been helping so much. I raise my arms to cover my face in anticipation of the comments soon to be left....BRING IT!

it certainly is a slipery slope... you can get sucked into the rain and lose hours/day.

I haven't been an AR-er for very long, but I'd like to know what parts of it have been most successful for you.  I'm trying to stay committed, but frankly I don't seem to be getting any effect yet.....

Stephen - I'm just as baffled.  I've been here longer than most, but don't write more than a few blogs a week.  When I do blog, it is typically from home at night or on a weekend.  So, I wonder how folks get the time as well.  Then again, there are only so many hours in a day so I suppose I should concentrate more on what I'm doing and less on what others are doing.

Thanks for the comments! No one is mad just yet:)

Matt, as long as you have some sort of "lead capturing" tool on your website meaning that if they really want to see that listing then they must put in their contact information if they want to see more listings, then you are good. The next thing is trying to figure out a way to get them to come to your site. AR shows up in Google. Everytime you blog make sure you have a link back to your site. I generally create a button. Also, whatever your main Meta tags are for your site, try to include that in some blogs. I hope this helps

We can talk about this on Thursday if you have time. We all have this problem, but you can't afford to stop blogging if t generates good leads.
