UNCOMMON COURAGE

Easter Sunday's rescue of Captain Richard Phillips of the Maersk Alabama ship hijacked by pirates in the Indian Ocean was the stuff of movies & heroes.  He had shown tremendous courage & moral fortitude, placing himself in the pirates' hands in exchange for his crew's release.  The navy seals' precision & extreme preparation were awesome.  This drama unfolded a day after the "Britain's Got Talent" show gave the world Susan Boyle, an unpretentious, unaffected woman with the voice of an angel.  Going in front of that crowd & those judges also took amazing courage, of a different sort, on the part of Ms. Boyle.  But isn't the world better for having heard her?  What an outstanding weekend in April!
