It Never Fails...

By

I've read many posts about realtors going on vacation and getting inundated with phone calls while they are gone, even if they were slow before they left.

I must say that this seems to happen to me, too.  I haven't been on a vacation in awhile (a loong while), but I've noticed that if I travel outside my cell phone's range (for just a couple of hours), I inevitably have a message from a potential client waiting for me on my voice mail - Even if I've been slow for days!

I don't understand it, and I'm not complaining, I just find it interesting...

I think I need to go on vacation more often...    :)

Hi Debi...It really does happen.

In February I drove down to Florida with one of my sons.  Naturally I wrote a contract the day before and spent the entire time negotiating on a short sale that had another offer.

The weekend before last I went up to Connecticut with the same son and his family and sure enough we arrived and within a few hours I had an offer on a waterfront home.  That one we are still negotiating (since April 10).

Plan away and hopefully get away.

It's almost as if they know you're going to be available so they are ready to buy now. That happened to me on my last vacation too.

It's definitely something that happens!  When I was at the hospital having my daughter, I was scheduling 4 appts for the next week!!  Next time I'll know not to get back to work so soon after delivery, but I didn't know any better!

My movers are here today and I've already scheduled two appts with buyers in Austin for next week!

Angelia - LOL!  As of now, I don't have any vacation plans, but I'm open to suggestions...  :)

Kate - It's funny how that works!  :)

Jack - I'm not sure what a vacation is, either, but I think I might need one... :)

Mike - It makes you want to take another vacation, doesn't it?  :)

Donna - Good for you!  You sure are going to be busy! :)

Valerie - I'll go with you!  :)

George - I know...  You really need the break, but it's hard not to respond to a phone call or email.  :)
