Time is a precious commodity.

Time is a precious commodity. There are only 24 hours in a day and 60 minutes in an hour. Time is not something we can ‘get’ more of. But, time is something we can ‘do’ more with. You are probably thinking, “She’s nuts! I can’t possibly do any more than I already am.” That’s not what I am talking about. I am talking about finding ways to use your time more creatively, using your time to generate more revenue.

Do you really know where your time is spent? If you know what you are spending your time on you will better be able to manage it more efficiently and effectively.

I want you to try a little exercise. You will be able to see where you are spending your time, what you are spending your time on, and how you might be wasting your precious time.

Track your daily activities for a few days, maybe a week. Get yourself a notebook or pad of paper and a pen. Keep them with you at all times for the next few days. I want you to jot down what you are doing. Every time you start something new, write it down. Write down when you finish the task or activity. Be sure to record everything from phone calls to lunch breaks to travel time.

The objective is for you to develop a pretty accurate picture of where your time is really being spent. You will then be in a better position to analyze where your time is being wasted and where you could make better use of it.

Look for those tasks you don’t do very well, the everyday, boring, time-consuming tasks, and the ones you totally dislike. Find the ones that don’t require your knowledge and skills. Add up the time you are spending on these tasks. Ask yourself what you could be doing with that extra time if you didn’t have to do them? Where would you direct your focus? Would you be able to spend more time on the core activities that will directly impact your business and produce more revenue?

I want you to seriously look at your time and your activities. Maybe it’s time you start delegating these non core tasks to someone else. Find yourself a virtual assistant to handle some of these tasks and free up more time for you to focus ON your business, on generating more revenue.

When you see your company bank account grow, you will be thankful you teamed up with a virtual assistant.

Good post.  Time is truly the most undervalued asset all of us possess.  Each moment, once spent, will never return; it can't be replaced; it can't be bought; it's gone forever.
