I know that my husband & I are getting older...I know, because my kids are getting older...They no longer fight and bicker with each other...They actually like each other!  :)

I also know we're getting older because our hair is getting grayer, and we have little aches and pains that we didn't use to have...

I knew that we were getting older, but I didn't know that we were old.  How do I know that we're old?

Well, I found out today when I looked at the receipt from Long John Silvers (My husband went there for lunch.).  On the receipt it said:

       "Senior Discount - $1.20"!!!

When did we grow old???  :)

That's great, Debi.  My mom gets the senior discount, but she would never consider herself OLD.

$1.20 is that what a life time of hard work and experience is worth ... hmmm I keep dyeing my hair and try and fool my self into being younger.

Take it from experience. Getting old has limited benefits.

We do have earlier happy hours and do get discounts at the outlet stores.

Hey, at least you weren't 29 (me at the time) with your 33 year old boyfriend and someone asking him if he should load his mother's jeep up with the materials!  Boy if I didn't feel old before, he sure made me feel like grandma when he said that!  He aged me 20-30 years in a matter of seconds!

Hi Debi...According to the calendar, a long time ago.

According to me, not there yet.  Hope to make it one day, meanwhile I'm having a great time.

Not old... Experienced...

I got the sr. discount at a Chuck A Rama in Utah when I was just 45.... Young girl figured since I have gray hair, I must be old..  When confronted, she giggled and said to take the discount anyway.

Debi,

I think that these places are going too far they don't even ask if we are over a certain age anymore.  Does this mean that when we reach a certain age that we will be getting the kids meal for free?  ;-)

Debi - I got my first "senior" discount when I was 50. $25 off of my hotel room, I took it. I will take any discount that I can get. I used to work with a guy that would get very upset when someone would offer him a senior discount, so, always used to describe him as the only guy I knew that had to show his ID to prove he wasn't eligible for a senior discount.

Debi... Thanks for the laugh.. I wasn't ready for that final sentence.  From all the blogs I've read of yours, I believe that I *AM* older than you.  So, you can look at the bright side... you will ALWAYS be younger than me. :)
