US IMMIGRATION THROUGH INVESTMENT ... Under section 203(b)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. §1153(b)(5).
10,000 immigrant visas per year are available to qualified individuals seeking permanent resident status on the basis of their engagement in a new commercial enterprise.
We learned about the INVESTMENT VISA program some time ago from immigration lawyers who talked about foreign nationals getting legal residency to the US in this way.
Some foreign nationals have held back from buying real estate in the US, because getting permanent residency status is so challenging. However, for people with MONEY, there is an option, the Regional Center EB-5 Program, known as the "INVESTMENT VISA".
This INVESTMENT VISA program was intended to attract foreign sources of capital into the US for development projects and employment for American workers.
According to this program, foreign nationals can buy and own property anywhere in the US and travel in and out of the country, and obtain green cards for themselves, their spouse, and unmarried children under the age of 21.
THIS TAKES MONEY ~ To get US residency privileges, a foreign national must invest a specified amount of money, usually $500,000 and sometimes $1 million, in a commercial enterprise that's located in a geographical area classified as a "regional center" by the U.S. government. There are more than 40 such regional centers, and each one is approved for different types of projects.
Investors don't have to live in the regional center as long as their investment is structured as a limited partnership and the project is overseen by a general partner who is in the area.
Immigration attorneys are in the business of advising people about this and will provide a list of established regional centers and contact names.
Foreign Investors must do their due diligence, should also have an accountant, lawyer, or financial adviser review the details and provide guidance in connection with the regional center that's chosen.
Investors must go through investigatation process, and the US government has strict requirements for documenting the lawful source of the MONEY.
If you are such a person looking for INVESTMENT VISA, consult with qualified immigration attorney here in the US and an investment advisor in your local area.
