Those of you who suffer with, through, because of, or take care of family members with 
Allergies.
NOW is the Time
This IS the season...at least here in Michigan; the East side of Metro Detroit. Michigan. It is known that the West side of the State South of Traverse City does have similar allergy triggers as we on the East Side.
Theirs can come earlier however. Warmer there I guess and all the growing, shedding, budding things hit them first.
Our family Doctor who is also a well-known allergist said that if Michiganders lived North of Traverse or moved South of Dayton, Ohio our allergies would not be as hardy as they are in the 'corn belt'.
You would think that, what with corn being used as a 'fuel' the 'corn belt' would be depleted.
But I digress--the reason for this posting is to call attention to an article from the Detroit News 4/10/09
the author Kimberly Hayes lists 7 general Hints for "Allergies and Cleaning":
...Kill dust mites...wash bedding at least 1 X per week in 120 -130 degree water-cold will not cut it here
...use dust mite protectors on pillows and mattresses, including the Box springs
...wash these protectors with mild soap / water solution 2X per month
...vacuum often--daily or at a minimum of 2X per week
...if you have pets, clean all flat surfaces including floors, weekly--
follow your cats around to see their hiding places
...get a HEPA filter for bedrooms
...kill mold with a bleach / water solution,
All of the above are reasonable, actionable, & functional.
Later in the article, she suggested that if the 'cleaner' has the allergies then the use of goggles & Masks are in order.
I could see our cats if anyone had used goggles & masks around this Home; chaos, fur, over-turned plants, mess, dust, feathers, Bedlam....!!
So, if you have small children & / or pets, I'd scrap the goggles & mask;
HIRE a crew to come in weekly if you can do so, OR delegate jobs to others in the household.
At least this 'crew' would make the cleaning experience interesting.
Allergies are NO joke, but even with shots, medicines, careful habits, & diet modifications--you can really
FEEL DOWN IN THE DUMPS.
