Market the home

Agents market homes through the Multiple Listing Service, on web sites, in advertisements and through their extensive network of colleagues. That’s important: MLS figures show that the longer a home is on the market, the less likely the seller is to receive their asking price.

I do believe that consumers deserve options. What I find amazing is how little the public really understands about the differences between the full service and discount brokerage services that are available to them. Consumers need to sit down and thoroughly discuss the positives and negatives to both sides of these options so that they have the needed knowledge to make a wise decision. Selling real estate is a major decision and one in which trying to trim costs can sometimes hurt them in the long run.

I agree.  I know that everyone is different and a discount brokerage may work for some people, but it amazes me when they will not even interview agents and just go with what they perceive as the cheapest.  After all, this is the largest investment most people make so why would you not look at all the options available? When I sit down with a seller and have the chance to show them my marketing plan, experience and education I can usually walk away with the listing.  I don't discuss the discounters I just focus on what I do, what I know and what I can do for them in the sale of their home.
