It's a sad day in Linden Michigan.
Friday May 18, 2007 an early evening fire destoryed a block long building. The building was known as the Union Block Merchantie Building. We mostly knew it as Broad street. The name of the restuarant that was on the corner. It was the heart of town. The building dates back to the late 1800's. Currently it housed Broad Street Grille, Serendipity Day Spa, Blade Dental, A Law Office, and serveral loft apartments. Cause of the fire is still unknown. What is known is that it's a total loss. My son shot this pic with his camera phone. Text message titled Mom LINDEN is on FIRE. It appears he was correct. He works directly across the street at Los Vecino's. Thanks to owner Greg Baker for letting so many in his small restaurant at the time. I just love Linden and it's small town charm. I hope they rebuild.
