What am I doing at my computer after 1:00 a.m. ?
Why am I once again sitting down here in the quiet, in low lights, with no sound at all?
quick answers--typing, posting, working at my desk, in my office, with all sound turned off because
it carries up through the duct work & Sal has to be at Con Ed tomorrow by 8:00 a.m.. This
would not be too bad, except that this particular Con Ed is a good 45 minutes away from us so he will
leave here at 6:45 A.M. yowsers--gives me chills just thinking about that. On line sounds so good to me.
That explains why I am down here being all quiet & low keyed, but it doesn't cover Why I am here in the
first place......Well
....let me explain; today, being one of the nicest days here in Michigan in a long, long, LONG time we
worked outside most of the afternoon. You know, keeping the office area looking good and all. Had already checked e-mail, answered some inquiries, deleted a whole bunch of items & started the laundry by 10:30 a.m., forgot to mention--stripped the sheets, gathered the towels & collected clothing to go into the
laundry, too.
We used this nice weather to take down, off, remove the Brown tarps that we use in the Winter to cover,
weatherize & summarily secure our 2 outdoor areas that are attached to the House. We use 1 area as winter storage for patio items & for feeding 3 neighborhood cats. The other secured area is our covered patio where we winter-store all our statues & fountains. Normally, this is done around this time anyway and it is a true sign of Spring. [ Hey, when you are older, this is a big thing.] When we were in New Construction, this would have been done during 'stolen times' as we were at the Subs by 12:30 p.m. until 6:00p.m. 6 days a week. Now that we are switched to Resale, this is our Office & Sal's is the phone meister and has it with him everywhere.
So, why the posting at this hour....
Sal wears one pair of outdoor shoes, only one, never wavering, never changing--while I on the other hand have loads of choices and today decided to wear my leather uppers, hard soled tennies. I know not to leave them on for a long time as the hard soles do what hard soles are meant to do...keep your feet flat & secure, no bending, flexing,or moving around within the shoes. Good selling feature, but ending up with throbbing, tingling sore feet at 1:00 am-- NOT. Why does this happen only in the wee hours. Earlier, I did experience some cramping in the right foot, charlie horses to be specific, but they stopped. Until, I went to bed, pulled up the covers & planned to sleep the sleep of the outdoor laborer, even had one window opened to catch an early Spring breeze. All was working so well, until I stretched, then the toes curled under or one under, one up, one under you get the picture.
So, here I am again typing at an hour when I should be asleep. Wondering about the condition of the market here in Michigan & Macomb County in particular. Musing that, as I read on the web, in the Rain, at Point 2's Reliberation, things in other States seem to be picking up & hoping that it will do so here sooner rather than later. In our Sub area, there are 4 Homes that recently were leased rather than sold; 3 that I know of that are vacant & other's in shaky situations. This is a Middle to upper Middle class neighborhood generally with well kept Homes, yards, [not too many garages though are used to store the cars] & seem to be nice people, too. Many are in automotive related, splinter jobs, or those that count on these people to support their Businesses. Like many others, they are hurting.
The house next door to us is going on the market in mid-May--not with us, but with an Agent from our Office. Nothing against us, but one of the Heirs had promised the listing before he knew what we are doing. That is somewhat of a relief as I believe that we would had scrutinized prospective Buyers a little more than usual & that posed an ethical question.
Sal says that should this Agent decide to have Open Houses, that he will offer to hold it open for her. We only has to walk down our front walk way, turn right, go another 40', then up his driveway & into the house. A great short trip.
It certainly will be nicer when we see Buyers show up who are able to purchase rather than lease. I know that it will happen; earlier this week a financial observer, not Governmental, talked about a Fall '09 up tick.
One of the larger Home Builders / Developers has bought out over a new sub just to the West of us. This does bring traffic into the area, so maybe some of the older Homes will be viewed.
Well, I hear thunder, so need to go & things are being auto-saved every 3-5 min. & everything freezes up
