Fighting The Flu - There Are Steps You Can Take

Let's face it - people like to panic. While this strain of the flu is indeed a very dangerous one according to all reports it is also "just the flu". I have avoided the flu for the last several years by following a few simple rules:

Avoid shaking hands. I know this is tough for us but it's one of the best ways to get disease and infection. As odd as it may seem to you a little bow, salute or fist bump may save your life. If not your life at least a few days of feeling really badly.

Always wash your hands. For several years I have kept a bottle of hand sanitizer close by. I keep one in my console of my cars and and my truck, two or three around the office and some spares in the house. Here is a great 6 pack of flu fighting hand sanitizer that I love to order.

If you don't mind reading a few pages there is a great guide to avoiding and preventing the flu available from Amazon as well.

Cornelly University has some great resources on stopping the flu.

Hi Ken,

I'm always looking for ways to avoid getting sick.  This is a very timely post, since I just read about the flu going around in my area.

Please remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

We go through a lot of that hand washing stuff -- especially when showing vacant homes.

Ken... so I can't sneeze in my hands and then shake your hands?  lol   I am around my nieces and nephews often, that it wouldn't matter much, I'll get their colds and other things...
