I just returned from a trip to The Beach Cities in Los Angeles California. While I was there visiting my children. It was my youngest daughter Andrea's 21st birthday. Here she is with her boyfriend Ryan, she in "the birthday tiara".

Between turning 55 in June and my youngest turning 21, I started my quest of doing a few things I've been wanting to do, but just haven't gotten around to doing.

I'm a little young for a bucket list. I'm starting with the small stuff :)

I had my first mojito with Dustin Luther who popped a photo of it on to Twitter just as I was ready to take my first sip using his TwitPic application via his cell phone.

Didn't get around to my first "put cucumbers on your eyes".  I'll have to google how long I need to keep them on there for whatever good they may do.  If anyone does the cucumbers on the eyes thing, would apprecaite some tips on how to do that and if it is worthwhile.

I had my eyebrows waxed.  Something I've never done and always wanted to try.  The took took much off one and now they don't match one another :(

...and...I had my first ever Red Bull!

I'm seriously thinking of taking a morning walk to the 7-11 in beautiful Downtown Kirkland WA and drinking a Red Bull before starting my day today. I'm such a high energy person already, that I was afraid of going into "high gear".  I actually waited until I had some "supervision" in case I started spinning around in circles and my brain exploded.

Happy to report...had my first Red Bull...and I didn't self distruct :)

Ardell, thanks for this post.  I'm 51 and already starting my bucket list...... It includes thinks like playing golf at Pebble Beach, making another trip to Ireland, sky diving, etc. etc.  It's funny how we all start to think about these things more and what we still want to experience after we turn 50.

You're daughter is beautiful, no doubt she takes after you.

Hi Vickie,

I've been to Pebble Beach...but I don't golf...so going there is all my bucket list would handle :) Beautiful place to visit, even for people who don't play golf.

Hi Katharine,

I have three daughters, two years apart.  The last turning 21 is a turning point.  Kind of like the day they were all out of diapers :)

Bucket list... we all should have one! Cucumbers will be easy if you did the waxing and Red Bull  already!  I'll add they may not be as exciting unless you bring some ranch dressing to dip them in when you are done :-)  My youngest is 18 this July and we will be going skydiving together...

Hi Michele,

My eldest went skydiving with her Dad some years ago.  She's 25 now. I don't like driving over a bridge, let alone jumping out of a plane.

On the bright side, I'm not fearful of flying :)

This is so funny, my parents just drove back from Florida on May 3rd (he is 82, she is 78 don't even want to talk about how scary that is) and when we unpacked the car, they had some Red Bull in the cooler - my son commented if Papa drinks Red Bull, do you think it'll just make him complain faster!

Me too! I'm curious about Red Bull, but like you, I thought I might spin out of control! Ask anyone who works with me... I'm always going 1000 miles an hour. What would happen with a can of RB?

Rene,

Seems to me the drink is more for people who can't get their ass in gear :) I push myself enough...and I'm 55. Drinking something so I can do even more...not likely a good idea on a regular basis. But I'm glad I can say I've had one!

Agreed: I'm 59... I have 40 year old daughter, a 22 year old daughter, soon to be 21 year old son, and my youngest is going to be 17 next week. HOW IN THE 'ELL did that happen!?

I did have a day, Monday last, we were busy all weekend moving stuff and (much needed) super scrub of my condo all last weekend. I was dead dog tired and thought, "maybe I'll swing by the AM/PM market this morning." I saw those RB's when I was looking for a cold refreshment Friday night!
