How cool... we don't have many structures like that here, so that's a treat. Can you imagine doing the disclosures on one of those?
Chris Ann --- It is sad to see buildings fading away like these. Great photos, though.
Chris Ann - Great shots of a wonderful old building! I love shooting old abandoned anything - buildings, cars, whatever!
Debi
Connie: It was a neat site. Of course, yesterday I had time to snap a shot.
Gary: I turned around in the driveway and thought my car backing up would set it all downward.
Myrl: Indeed! The roof isn't the prettiest with the oxidation, but it's still in good shape.
Charles: Wouldn't dare!
Mike & Sheryl: We've been having some really terrible wind storms over the past months. I'm surprised they haven't done the trick.
Sally: I was in a house today where I nearly fell through the floor boards. It was a mess.
Liz: It is sad, but it is kind of neat looking at the same time.
Debi: This is my first attempt at this type of subject.
JL: So whose pic do you like better? Mine or my husband's?
A couple of summers ago, my mom took me back to the "old home place" of her grandfathers. There was a similar barn and other outbuildings, a sad little dock that went out to a fishing pond...I love looking at this kind of photo and wonder about the families who put blood, sweat and tears into building these places
Diane: It's definitely not in the best shape, but it's at least something different to see.
Chris Ann,
Time does indeed take its toll. This is a little more extensive than just a coat of paint. :)
Steve
Steve: My husband said I should use the pics in a blog post about maintaining a home. Thought that might be a bit much, even for my sarcastic wit.
Hi Chris Ann-I used to see a building just like this on the way to my Mom's I was always amazed it never fell and always wondered what was holding it up. Great photos I hope your week has been a good one. <SMILE>
Sharon: My week has been decent. A few problems popping up, but it's real estate...to be expeceted.
Wow what an amazing photograph thank you for sharing it with us here at activerain.
-Peg <(-.-)>
Peg: Every once in a while you see something you want to remember. This was one of those times.
Those are great shots. It's neat to take the camera out and get shots of things that are not the brand new homes we see up and down Linton Hall Road.
Anne: This building certainly had a lot of charm, though it looks like it's about to collapse.
