Yes, you heard me right! Nothing is wrong with Your hearing. I  think What Makes a House a Home is "Mom's Chocolate Pie!"

What better than after a Family Dinner still sitting as a Family at the dining room table than Dad, Mom, and all the children sitting at the table each having a Big piece of Mom's Chocolate Pie. Everyone with a Smile on their face's! Everyone speaking about what took place during the day or about some event or place the Family is planning on going to! Big Old Smiles on everyone's face and as sweet as the chocolate in the pie.....is LOVE for all at the table! Sweet, Sweet Love of a Family living within four walls built from dirt, sticks, and rocks.

Yes, Mom certainly knew what she was doing when she made her pie! She helped build a House that became a HOME! She has found away to bond her family together as one with Hearts built of Love. A family content within.

Now for you or for others it may be something else that Mom did. Or perhaps something that Dad did! But the idea is that without the Love and the Family the house never will be a HOME!

If it's a couple, young or old...with no children. They are still a family and it is still their love for one another that will bring this creation about!

You know a house stands still But a home breathes Life! A Home....it is a feeling that cannot be Bought, that cannot be Sold, but can only be Found! "Home SWEET Home!"

What a beautiful post and I agree wholehartedly.  Brick & mortar do not make a home - it the love, life experiences, building a life together and all that comes with it.

Danny, you are making me hungry! You know I love chocolate! Life is uncertain and I prefer to have my dessert first. I had some yummy pecan pie yesterday at a Realtor's open house.

Danny - Growing up, it was Mom's homemade baked mac & cheese that brought us all together not to mention my Grandma's homemade pear butter.  Great Story!

Christy, I think you need to make one!

Robert, Ummmm I love macaroni and cheese. When I was growing up (ions ago) My mom made it with real cheese and macaroni. Not the kind you buy in a Kraft box!

Thanks Danny.  I did throw my hat in the ring.  Good luck.  Love the chololate pie idea.  In fact, love anything chocolate.  I suspect that you have a winner here.  It has heart.

Danny - SWEET post and thoughts of my mom's great cooking surely do conjure up feelings of home, no matter where we lived.  Now my dad carries on some of my mom's special homemade things, and he's quite good at it, too, we're discovering!  ;-)
