Inventory continues to decrease in most area.  More importantly - the number of homes Under Contract are also climbing.

Here are the number of homes on the market including the number of homes that were taken Off (EXPIRED) the market last week.

Single Family:     Actives: 1976     Expired: 18       Under Contract: 639  

Condos:              Actives: 1536    Expired: 13       Under Contract: 447 

 

Arlington County

Single Family:     Actives: 527           Expired: 1         Under Contract: 193

Condos:              Actives: 562          Expired: 2        Under Contract: 175

 

Prince Georges County

Single Family:     Actives: 5895      Expired: 70        Under Contract: 1533

Condos:              Actives: 878       Expired: 8          Under Contract: 100

 

Montgomery County

Single Family:     Actives: 3775        Expired: 15        Under Contract: 1840

Condos:              Actives: 1286        Expired: 7         Under Contract: 406

 

It is important to see the number of homes taken "Off" the market.  While many of these homes will return to the marketplace a week or two; seeing a listing "expire" means that the seller and agent thought or expected the home to be sold by now.
