Slide.com has some pretty nifty layouts and tools if you want to enhance your Real Estate or personal videos.  Having used slide.com for photo slide shows in the past, I thought I'd check back to what they have added or updated.  Some of their tools for video have been improved and are easily embeded to many of the social networks and Blogs including ActiveRain.  It has been quite a while since I last visited their site.

It's always good to check back with some of those sites you've discovered from the past.  They will either be gone, the same, or better.  I had written a post about the top 200 sites for 2008 and many have indeed gotten better, slide.com being one of them.  I used a Youtube video (AR Voices) for this sample.  You can create different backgrounds and layouts for both photos and video now.  Step Slide into my living room, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.  :-)

Check out what they have for your AR Blog posts by clicking on the "Skin Your Video" tab above.  You'll need to use the "Blogger" HTML format to have them appear on your AR Blog, Profile, or posts.  Jeff Dowler informed me that some of these other formats do NOT work as they aren't formatted properly for the AR network.  Just create your piece, click on the "Blogger" format, then copy and paste the HTML embed code on your AR post using the HTML tab while in edit mode. (not the WYSIWYG tab)

Everyone is using and watching video these days, if you dare to be different and have yours stand out, Slide.com is FREE, and as you can see, it works well on AR Blog posts and profiles.  There are many other templates and tools you can utilize, I just chose this one to share today.  You can always tell a Youtube video, but slide.com let's you "mask" the typical standard looking player, and add some originality and personality to your photos and videos. Enjoy!

Hi Brad, I have been using Slide for quite some time. It takes a bit of time looking through carefully at all the possibilities but it is a great free service. There is another one that seems to be excellent. FlashSlideShowMaker.com It does cost $49 ( one time fee) but it also hase some unique features that make it useful to have in the arsenal.

I do have a question. I was experimenting with a  trial program ( Ulead Gif Animator 5 ) that also provided flash slide shows. How does one embed a slideshow if there is no html code provided. In this case the slide show is saved as a gif, but I couldn't figure out how to put it up on the site.

Very fun.  I need to go back and take a look at your list (bookmarked) and see who else has cool tools.

6:12pm • #13

Hi William - when you create your own video or animated gifs that are NOT hosted on a site that provides an embed code, you'll need to have them placed on a server where they can be accessed via a link or your own HTML embed code.  If you have your own server, that's the best way to accomplish this.  :-)

What a terrific presentation. With regard to you wonderful 200 sites post, I commented earlier today that AR might consider allowing comments to refresh posts in groups, Maybe limit to comments for other members.

That would allow your great post, which I remember, to cycle back up in the appropriate groups.

This is the second SLIDE.COM link i saw today, other one from Jeff Dowler i think. I'll check it out now. I've been videoing properties and caravan and editing in Final Cut Pro. Wish it didn't take so long. And would love to see any links to formats of video production style that are more interesting than just us realtors narrating ( like a color commentator at a basketball game) what we are seeing as we walk through the property. Anybody got a link they wish to share??

I will have to check this out now that I am doing some video.  What a neat tool.

12:58pm • #57

Thank you for sharing a really neat and free tool for real estate video!

Would you happen to know whether they have frames/backgrounds for standard/non-YouTube videos?

1:05pm • #58

Jeff - no thank you, you helped motivate and inspire this post, kudos go to you my friend. :-)

6:04pm • #59

Katerina - Real Estate Shows does Rock and Rule!!  :-)  And Jeff Turners a pretty good guy too, best customer service in the industry for sure.

Shane - I didn't try them all, but haven't seen any restrictions yet.

Richard - I love that idea and miss that feature.  Let me put in a plug for that one for sure!!!   Thanks.  :-)

William - Yes.  Jeff Turner runs Real Estate Shows, you should definitely check it out. You'll get a discount if you sign up from his AR profile page or Blog.  Just fyi...

Ronnie - video editing can take for ever!  I get it as I do quite a bit of it.  Give me a jingle and we can put our heads together for some alternate solutions that may work better for you. Thanks.

Myrick - they may, this post is just referring to the Youtube Video options. You'll want to check out slide.com to see what other options they have for video outside the youtube library.

Hi Brad, just got back from Slide.com, found the Sofa and added some pictures and copied and pasted it into our Blog on AR.  Question, can I type a introduction to the slide show or do I mess up the HTML that I copied in.  Just learning, not sure if you can do this.

9:30am • #64

Al and Peggy - you can add a text slide as an introduction or use your Blog post as part of the introduction as well.  I think you would need to create an image file of the text, and add it just as you do photos or graphics.  I'm not sure you could include text any other way, and unless the text is included in your video, the only way to add it would be to use youtubes annotation tool.

Anything is possible, just finding the way to do it is the task.  Let me know if you need any help making it happen. :-)
