There are places that we want to live and there are places the everyone wants to live. Recently, CNN Money posted the top 100 best places to live in the United States. The Top 5 may surprise you a bit.

1) Plymouth, MN

Thats right, Minnesota topped the list of the best places to live in the United States. This city offers great schools and good jobs which is a combination every family is looking for. Worried about having too many neighbors? Don't be, the population is only 70,000.

2) Fort Collins, CO

Colorado has always had a place on the top 100 list, but this time it is in the top 2. Fort Collins is all about getting out and getting moving. The roads are all created with bike lanes on the side to keep the bikers moving just as fast as the drivers. There is even a library where locals can take a bike for free and return it within seven days. Total population - 129,400.

3) Naperville, IL

This is the third time Naperville has been on the best 100 list. The city is ready and willing to accept people traveling into the city of Chicago for their day job as long as they frequent the quaint shops and river walk paths at night. Total Population - 142,900.

4) Irvine, CA

Surprisingly with California being listed as one of the top states for foreclosures, Irvine is listed as the 4th best place to live in the United States. The city is renowned for keeping things green and maintains a minimum of 16,000 acres of greenery. Total Population - 193,900.

5) Franklin Township, NJ

Rounding out the Top 5 Best Places to Live in the United States is a small town in New Jersey. While most of New Jersey is known for big city life and crime, Franklin Township is immune to these effects. Villages are where developments would be in this 46 square mile town. Total Population - 59,100.

Our choice - Tampa, FL

Without a doubt, Tampa is a great place to live with water all around and more sunny days a year than any other place on earth.

Four of those top five places are way too cold for me.  My top choice is where I now live... San Antonio, Texas.

I like where I live as well, I think that is why most people live where they do.  If you think you need to listen to these top 5 lists, then well, you must need another place to live, so give us Realtors a call!

Makes me think who comes up with these choices and what they are based on. Interesting, but I don't agree with the choices.  I don't see San Diego or San Francisco on there.  When I lived in Florida I thought Boca Raton was a great place to live.  I loved it.  Tampa is definitely a great place to live too.  I love the bay and the beaches there.
