Going the Extra mile on my 3rd day....

By
Mortgage and Lending with Du It Mortgage

I woke up at 5:57am from a business owner asking me about getting a loan in my dream. How interesting I was dreaming something like that when I was depress last night. No matter what, that was one dream I did not want to wake up. I quickly turned on my laptop to see if Brian was upset with me taking a day to rest. I did my daily routine and go get ready after reading Brian's comment about being done by 2pm . It was 8:40am when I was done eating breakfast and I was out the door by 8:50am.

The area I was in today was very interesting. It was 1st Ave in Burien.  The first thing I did was trying to find a safe place to park my car. I ended up parking in mini complex in front of Schucks. Since it was early in the morning, I wondered if it would be a good idea to conversate with the worker. The lady I ended up talking to was Andrea. She said yes in a way I knew it was simply she does not hate me and have nothing to do with mortgage.

Then I walked to Subway to give it a shot. Interestingly, I got someone who knew what I do but was not able to really answer my questions. She did say if they need anything about buying a home, they will call me. So I decided to put her on the "Yes" list even though she did not really respond to my questions.

I  noticed people would answer "yes" because of three reasons: 1) they don't hate me b/c they do not know me 2)they are just trying to be nice 3)wouldn't mind socializing with me

As I looked across the street and down the road, I notice there was practically a real estate office in every corner almost. There was Windermere in one corner. 21st Century on another corner. John L Scott across the street. Coldwell Banker on the end of the other corner. As I walk pass by them, I began to wonder if I will have the guts to walk into a Real Estate office and do what I am doing right now??

As I stood at the corner waiting for the walk signal to come one, an elderly lady began to talk to me. She asked if I was looking for direction. I told her what I was doing and asked if I could ask her a few questions. She was okay with it as long it was not personal. Interestingly she answered me with "do not go talk to the people who live there. They are mean and will hate you." Right away, I knew our conversation was nonsense.

So here is my list of "yes":

Summary:(MEET 30 People!)

I finished talking to 25 people at 10:45am, which caught me by surprise how fast I did it.The feeling of joy when I reached 25 people in one hour was unbelievable and amazing. It felt so good, I decide to challenge myself by trying to get 5 more people. The extra 5 will also help to make up lost time. After I got my 5 people, I decided I will meet 30 people everyday until I make up for the lost.

I found out that I actually enjoyed doing this and can see myself being a Rain Maker. The conversation will be more passive once I master this and it will be more like making new friends. I also realized I do not like LONG "no's". I found it annoying when someone give me long "no's". I know they are giving me reasons why it is a "no" because of two things:1) don't want me to feel bad 2)make them feel better. It does not matter to me really as long you get straight to the point. I'm a straight to the point kind of person.

A wonderful and blessing ending it was today!!! Thank you GOD/Universe!!!

Hooray!  I'm so proud of you Vyvyan.  Car dealers are JACKPOTS.  The sales people are not too busy in the morning and they LOVE to talk to people.  These folks are highly connected so keep at them.

30 is great but just do 25 consistently each day.  You're starting to gain traction; more maybes than nos!

Wow!  Great posts.  I could learn something here.  I am not in the mortgage business myself, but I also need to go out and meet at least 30 people a day.  I have subscribed to your posts and look forward to hearing more about your experiences.  I had the pleasure of talking to Brian myself and even was part of one of his podcasts on prequalifying your buyers.  One of the comments, I think after your part I of your 2nd day said to GET UP EARLY in the morning and be out by 9AM.  That is so true and proven in your 3rd day, because you were able to meet even more people!!  Don't stop, girl!  We are all rooting for you!
