Be BOLD! An agressive agent doesn't have to be rude. Asheville NC

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Four Seasons Realty

A couple of months ago I had a potential seller call to make a listing appoinment with me. The day of the appoinment they called to cancel. I asked them why and they said they had interviewed with three other agents and decided to list with a large well known company here in Asheville.

My response.....I told the seller this..."I don't mean to sound arrogant but I think you would be doing yourself a favor if you let me come to your home and show you what my marketing plan is." After a VERY long pause , she said that would be fine.

When I left the listing appoinment they had listed their primary residence with me and also a spec home. She later told me that she was shocked I said that to her but told her husband that if I was that bold they should give me a chance.

Being bold does pay off. You don't have to be rude or pushy...just let them know that you are good at what you do and would like to market their home and get it sold. That was in January and since then they have sent me seven more listings and I am interviewing with another friend of theirs this Thursday.

Don't forget...BE BOLD!!

Thanks! I was very timid when I was younger. You notice I didn't say "young" because I am still young at heart!  I was made fun of in school because we were poor (and looked the part :-0) but after high school I opened up my first business and became a new person. It was a leap of faith but it payed off in many ways.

Great for You! I once had a very rude/poppus client (Attorney) who was looking to Purchase a waterfront home (deal) He would call and just be basically rude. He called one day (The same manner). I told him, look I don't like the way you speak to me. I don't  let my husband or anyone else speak like this to me so, I suggest we end this real estate relationship and I can refer you to someone else or you can find someone on your own. Which ever you prefer. He totally did a 360 and to this day we are great friends. .. Honesty and being bold go a long way. Congrats! Monique

Attitude goes a long way in this business, a good marketing plan can be over taken sometimes by great confidence in ones own self, but if you have both, there is no stopping you!
