Hi Teri, where did you find Bambi?

I have only seen a fawn up close and personal a few times... for me it is almost like the dots on the back are something that was made up for kids books and movies. I thought I was in a Walt Disney animated movie when we saw one in the woods with it's mama deer last year. Great photo.

What a beautiful little fawn! That's what Minnesota is all about. :-)

Teri, An absolutely perfect shot. And I realized it's been way too long since I've seen a deer, they are such beautiful animals.

Steve--It was a very nice surprise in our own backyard! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Gail--Our little visitor was a cutie! I took a few shots but this is the one where the eyes were the most visible.

Terry--I thought it was a great WW picture to share in for a spring day!

Sharon--They are beautiful creatures aren't they?

Mike--Thanks...And adorable perfect description of my little friend. :)

Tad--Believe it or not..."Bambi" was in our overgrown firepit.

Maureen--This little one's spots were very visible as his fur was very dark...He was only a few hours old.

Lindsey--This is what living on acreage in MN is all about! I never had these guys in my backyard in North St Paul! :)

Yolanda--How are you? This little guy let us take his photo because his legs weren't strong enough to run away...His family came back about dusk and nudged him to his feet and he scampered off. He stayed in our firepit all day.

Carole--I get the opportunity to see them quite often. (Not a good experience when they jump in front of your car.) But we were never this close to one in the wild. They are beautiful aren't they?

Teri, the fawn is beautiful! She'll grow up to eat your azaleas!

Patricia--I have given up gardening other than in containers on our deck and perennials that the deer don't like. Our first year the deer thought we had planted a buffet...overnight everything was gone. Now they have to come on to the deck if they want to snack...so far no takers. :)

Teri, What a precious little spotted baby! Last spring I was turning my horses out into their paddock for the day. The horses stopped & stood at attention, looking at something. Then I saw a little fawn had somehow gotten in the horse paddock. I rushed to get my husband to help me 'corral' the little thing & herd her through an open gate. She darted through & immediately dropped & hid in the tall grass to await her mothers return at dusk. ~Marian, the Horse Girl

Where is mommy? Don't tell me that she is an irresponsible mommy and has abandoned her little one.

And why is your fire pit overgrown? You're north of Interstate 10. You should never have anything in a fire pit except a fire! LOL
