The Woods Have Eyes

When taking a nature walk through the woods today, I kept having this feeling that I was being watched. I would turn and look behind me every so often, but of course no one was there. I'd look up into the trees and again no one there, but still I could not shake this awkward feeling that there was some one other than myself out here. Frankly it was starting to freak me out just a tiny bit when suddenly I noticed them. A whole family of them as it turned out.

They were all perfectly harmless and extremely friendly. As it was, it was such a wonderfully sunny day and they too were just hanging around enjoying the warmth after such a long cod winter. Grandpa even offered my some shade and needed rest from the hot sun. For all of you out there who think that what you do in the woods goes on seen ... think again. The Woods Have Eyes and you never know when you too may be being watched.

I've seen these in one of the home shopping catalogs I get.  But, I just couldn't bring myself to buy them because they remind me too much of the dark forest in The Wizard of Oz.  Creepy! :)

Heather, that's funny. Didn't know you could get them in a catalog ... I know of a couple of people who make them. This was my first run in with them and I thought they were so cool.

Suesan - I have a couple trees on my property that have Forest Faces on them like in the pictures.  The kids in the neighborhood really enjoy the one on my front lawn.  The tree in the front is named, Bob.  The one in my backyard, is Fred.

Myrl, That's so cool, I think I might do the same with some of my trees here. I'm sure my grandkids would get a real charge out of it.

By The Way ... the missing comments reappeared. If it weren't for the fact that others are posting about the glitches as well I would have thought it was on my end. Thanks for getting back to me.

My parents have one of these in their yard, I had never seen one until my grandparents had put one up years ago and until today I thought it was something unique.

Todd, Until this post I thought it was unique as well. Just goes to show how we never know what we're going to learn here on AR.

Andrea, aren't they neat... I plan on getting some for my trees as well. I think my grandchildren will get such a charge out of it.

Suesan, how cool.  I would have been very freaked out!  I'd love to go out into the NJ Pinelands and put them on some trees, just to see the reaction!  Thanks for sharing these great pictures!

Hi Laura and thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. It would be funny if you did, but if it's not your property you might get in trouble. You never know how the powers that be might react.
