Hi Patrick,

Would this work in a smaller city as well?  We are in a Tri-City area- maybe 150k people in all 3 combined.

I just clicked on the link and it said that there is a error. I hope it gets fixed soon. I am definitely interested in knowing more about this.

I am in a small rural area and don't think it would work for me, but it's an interesting concept for sure.

@Cindy - we believe our Breaking News City sites work best in a hyperlocal city or region of 100-300k population. Why? You want to attract the people in your community to communicate with you through your Twitter network via the Breaking News City site. A larger metro area Breaking News City site like Breaking LA News will attract people from all over. We have many smaller city breaking news sites - Reno, Boulder CO, Asheville NC, Irvine - that will launch shortly.

@Lanre - the link works for me. You may see much more information pertaining to the Breaking News initiative at my media blog Media Transparent.

@Missy - we've been working with our client base to get their Breaking News up and running first. I know you "get" the concept Missy and we're rewarding the first movers who understand how to apply Breaking News City sites to connect their communities.

@Brian, @Roland @Lana- we provide the Breaking News City template free to our clients. Ask any of the over 500 who have gone through our courses... even after they have gone through our courses, we offer additional services like Breaking News free to them.

So please register for our Social Media Marketing Webinars at http://DomusConsultingGroup.com/101h. We systematically help you build your social media referral system and prepare for running your Breaking News City site.

Think we are too small of an area for this to work for us -- it would work for the entire of Phoenix --but not for segments. Interesting concept however.

This is way too cool Pat, looking forward to more Breaking News across the country(s).

Thanks @Harrison

@Rene we work with title companies too in developing Breaking News real estate focused sites...

@Kerry we have Metro Atlanta being set up, but the cities & neighborhoods haven't been covered yet. For example, we'll have 3-4 Breaking News City sites in Orange County, CA alone... the more hyperlocal, the more effective.

Thx @Brad!

Patrick, it sounds great, I wonder how much it costs?  Do you have San Luis Obispo or San Diego area available?

Hi Regina, the only thing you need to do is to sign up for our next Social Media Referral System workshop at the link above. We'll show you how to develop a Breaking News city site as well as fine tune your online referral network (the Breaking News City site is the engine to building that local network!). And one of those cities is available; we work on a client first come basis.

Pat - this really sounds great and what I've seen from Marc's Orlando Breaking News it looks really good. You messaged me on Facebook and I was concerned with taking too much on at once. I'll sign up for the webinar. Thanks

Pat-

I'm fascinated by this. I've tweeted a few #sfre tweets that do show up, but I'm curious- You say you are setting up these sites for your clients. Do your clients get to control the content. IOW, if another local Realtor was to set up a site, would they allow my feed, would they allow my hashtags? Is it up to the sole discretion of your client?

My concern is spam, as well as competition. I'd hate to see the site degraded by, well, spam let's call it. I think you understand what I'm talking about.

How are you either handling that, or anticipating that?
