An appreciation for old architecture in Searcy Arkansas. Plaza Theatre

Plaza Theater Searcy AR

This picture of the old Plaza Theatre in Searcy, AR, also known by kids as the cheap ticket theatre is featured so nicely in this old photograph.

The band is in perfect order.  But look above at the brick detail.  And now look at the picture of the same building today.  It has been updated and the street looks lovely.  I love most the way they kept the brick architecture!  In this picture we can also see how small the theatre really was!

Barbara,

When I was a kid the high school band would march past my neighborhood. They were such big kids. Then I was in high school, graduated and I realize they were not much beyond babies back then.

Jim, that must be the date of this picture then!  Thanks.

Steven, have you noticed now that people who are 30 years old look like babies!!

Barbara, from the brick perspective you are right, it looks like time has stood still. I'm amazed with the band members photo how uniformly straight in posture they all are. Almost like the military Attention command.

Patricia, I don't know about marching bands.  I am totally not musical.  In college, because I was in the visual arts they didn't even make me take music appreciation!

Gary, see note to Patricia.  I've never hung out with a band so don't understand whether they have to be at attention.  I just love the picture though.
