I have been working on improving my video skills lately, and since I had my pocket video camera with me today during my time with my family, I decided to shoot a few quick videos and incorporate them into a restaurant review.

Mighty Fine Burgers has three locations in the Austin metro area (one in north Austin, one in south Austin, and a brand-new location in Round Rock near Teravista).

To say that the food is good is a vast understatement.  Everything that I have had there is excellent!  In fact, they are typically swamped, so we tried to time our lunch during their "down time".

I hope you enjoy the video - big thanks to Jeremy Blanton for his help in using Windows Movie Maker!:

Thanks so much for checking out my video journal of our time at Mighty Fine Burgers!

I feel very informed. I have got to get one of those cameras. You all need to see how it is over here in the Northwest-Dinah Lee

Jason:  What a treat.  Here I am... at my computer... it's 1:01am Thursday morning... and I am watching a video of the Mighty Fine bathroom.  Oooo-kay... LOL.

Those burgers sound great.  I've also had several folks tell me how great that barbeque place is that you mentioned.  You might want to do a review on that place, too.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jason... I am a HUGE Rudy's fan, so I will have to check out Mighty Fine next time I am down in Austin!  And that hand sanitizer looks cool.

Jason:  here's a great new marketing idea.  With the "Swine flu" that seems to be coming... maybe you could create some sort of "head sanitizer ?"  I can see the promo now:  "Let's me sell your home.  Free Head Sanitization with every listing."  What a concept.

jason,

It looks like your video skills are improving.  Thanks for taking us on a tour of Mighty Fine Burgers.  The hand sanitizer is a good way to get folks to wash their hands.

Jason--Great video blog..Love that your kids want to participate. I find your southern style seating unique but reminds me of when I waitressed in college at a Pizza Hut where people sat themselves. On one particularly busy night a couple sat down at two empty seats of a longer table and the family sitting there freaked. I'm now guessing they were from the south. :)

I didn't go through them all, but I love the attempts.  NEver heard of this hamburger chain though.

Hi Jason--Great restaurant review--the videos really made it more special! I'm not a burger eater but I'm craving some of those french fries now, they looked great!

Have a great day,

Hey guys - Thanks for your kind comments here!  I finally managed to figure out how to knit the different videos together today, using Windows Movie Maker (free program).

Karen Anne - Great to see you!

Jason:  Great to see you too.  The sewn-together video looks just great.  It's nice to have Jeremy help you with the sewing.  That makes you a little sew-and-sew... doesn't it ?

Your Mighty Fine Burger vlog was Mighty Fine!

Great to see a decent output created, using relatively simple tools.  Gives people like me, hope.

Just one concern: how distracting is videoing and narrating, while driving? Our NJ State Troopers would have a field-day with that!

@ Robin:  What Jason was trying NOT to tell you... was that while he was videoing and narrating, he was letting either his son or his daughter do the driving.  Shhhh... it was supposed to be a secret !

PS... Robin... in case you are not aware... when you made your above comment... the reason you probably had to type your name in may have been because you were not "logged in."  Whenever you want to make a comment... check in the far upper right hand corner to see if it says "login" or "logout."  If it says "login" it means that you are NOT logged in, and you need to.

Just click on the "login" link... then put in your username and password... and then you are IN.  From them on... you will see your name automatically added to your comments.  Just a thought.  Take care...

Also... I think if you comment when you are not "logged in"... you probably do not get your 25 points per comment for each comment you make.

I didn't know about the hand sanitizers. Now I have to find out where I can try one on my hands. I might even have more fun than your son did.

Most everyone around my area would line up just for the kicks and giggles factor.

Hi Jason!  How COOL is that place?!  We have a place that is similar called Fudruckers but, bummer, they don't have the hand sanitizers!!

Thumbs up for Mighty Fine Burgers!
