One of the hot topics among the regulators is education, and many concerns were voiced. How many hours should you require? what about post-licensure vs. Continuing education?
One thing I can tell you is that these regulators from all over the world believe in the power and value of education. Tomorrow the conference members are discussing the new Canadian national standards for pre-license education and will examine the work product.
While I will reserve comments on that, I will tell you here that as I talked with delegates from South Africa and Alberta, I heard over and over again the need for detailed and topic specific content to be provided. Interesting topics that will education the REALTOR and licensee. Sounds an awful lot like the MRE program that I am proud to be working on.
