Well, here's our gas prices as of last night and this is already outdated. Drove by this morning and it was $3.14 for regular. Can you imagine the man hours that are involved in changing the price on these signs? I bet we could fix the national debt just by farming this out to India. In the last couple of years you would think that the gas station owners would have invested in a better way to change the prices by now. There some signs that have an LED look to them, with the savings from the man hours and the extra cost of the sign...they should be at a break even point if they purchased it last summer.
Do you remember driving down the highway and seeing the old gas station signs up on billboards with the current price? Sure it was like .78 cents back then, but the price never changes as frequently as today. They would have to have someone sitting on the billboard with a walkie talkie. "Change regular to 3.09...." Ten minutes later.."Change regular back to $3.05'
I really don't understand how they can change the prices like they do...I have retail background so I do understand price changes, but really are they taking multiple markups/downs everytime the price changes??? I mean don't they buy the gas a fixed price when the fuel truck fills up the gas station? "That will be $92,743" Sell that and get charged the going rate for the next shipment.
I guess I am just rambling out of frustration. I should consider a new car or at least look at downsizing my SUV. I really love my SUV...but each time I fill up, I begin to despise her! While I am ranting about filling up...If I put a credit card in the pump...WHY ON EARTH DOES IT SHUT OFF AT $75??? Are they concerned about my monthly statement...that's nice, just lower the price and that will help.
So, tell/show me what the gas prices are doing in your neck of the woods. Let's make this a photo blog... comment using pictures.
