The Long Hours

The twitch is involuntary and it always happens to occur at the same time of the day. The late hour.

It is the moment when my eye moves to the lower right hand corner of the screen and glances at the time stamp of my lap top. In an instant I am reminded that there is life outside the office and that life is calling me to join it.

Its not a bad thing, I love and enjoy my career. That is why I loose myself in it sometimes.

But this healthy twitch is a reminder that my career serves a higher purpose. One of children who laugh at my silly dance, a wife who enjoys that I enjoy her home cooked meal and a lawn that misses my attention.

The long hours are the building blocks of my legacy as a real estate professional. As I pour through contracts, the needs of my agents, and the health of the office I easily sacrifice the ticking hour hands.

But when the twitch comes...then its time to pack it in and enjoy my own home.
