Living in La Canada Flintridge means that we have the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in our backyard! Now, there is constant debate as to whether JPL is in Pasadena, or in La Canada. But, whatever the outcome, it remains that JPL is on the border of the two communities.
Every year, this high-security facility opens it's doors to the public. The annual open house is this weekend, May 2 and May 3 from 9 am to 5 pm each day. And - it's free!
The open house showcases the projects of NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. There are exhibits and demonstrations, with scientists and engineers on hand to discuss and answer questions. If you have the opportunity to attend the open house, it's really worth the time!
