Fighting Off The Blues On A Sunny Day.

It is the WORST to have the blues on a sunny day. The world is chattering around you with laughter. Your big real estate closing for the month has fallen through. You don't feel well. For some reason the last few days you are feeling sad. Take note that emotions and feelings JUST HAPPEN. You can't help them. Anniversaries of bad times in your life. Hormonal or physical situations and pain. Getting worn down by a burden that won't go away. Memories of something terrible.

There is hope. Remember the time tested line, this too shall pass. Storms always do. You need to give time in your life to step away, to rest, to refresh in some way. Get your mind focused on something else, away from what is bothering you. Do something for others. Count your blessings. LAUGH somehow. Then LAUGH some more. Find those in your life that bring cheer to you. Beg them that you need their services NOW. The real givers will give their cheer and hugs and love to you freely. They are like your little angels.

Know that the blues times in your life come and go and just roll with them. And remember when it is time for you to be on top of the world share that with others.

I've always loved Charlie Brown - sigh - thanks for sharing. Laughing and/or helping someone both work very well to bring you out of a rut!

I have been working on getting a deal done also and it seams that everytime I turn around, it's a new problem.  Such is life!

Challenge's, we will always have them!  Recently I read where a study was done with 50 people.  Each wrote down their problems on a piece of paper and place in a basket.  The basket was then passed around and each person drew.  You had the option of keeping your problems or taking on another's.  99% percent put their "new" problems back on the table to retrieve their own.

It is so hard to stay positive and focused when it seems like problems keep coming from every direction.  I had to work hard on my thoughts this morning on my way to the office.  Charlie Brown can make us all smile and encouragement from others always make us feel better!  Good luck to you!

Hi Gary!
I am a big believer in the silver lining, the cup half full or as you say, this too shall pass.  But, there are simply times when you are feeling sad.  I allow myself this luxury for an hour or two and then enough is enough...it's time to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get on with life.

I appreciate your note about my humorous comment the other day. Glad you don't think I was too irreverent! I'm blessed with a very positive attitude and maybe not so blessed with a very naughty sense of humor. But oh, I have such a good time. ;-)

Hi Gary, great post! And if I find myself needing a good laugh I shall just pop over to your lovely post with the photo of the little one licking the pig. Yep, that will do it for me!

But seriously, especially now, it is so important to have an outlet (like milking the cows) and to have a good support system (like the bazillion best friends right here on AR). We are blessed my friend.

Have a wonderfully happy day!!

Gary - Ahh...so true!  I was feeling like this last week, and then this week I closed on a seamless transaction with a delightful couple who are first time buyers ....my blues, suddenly went away. And, the problem child from last week is now justa distant memory!

Gary - It's raining over this way, so I guess I'm allowed to "sing the blues"... at least today:)

I can't laugh.  It makes me caugh.

One more day of this cold is about all I'm going to put up with.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow.  I don't care.  I'm getting out of this place tomorrow.

Besides, I have a commission check waiting at the P.O. and I'm almost out of caugh medicine.

Gary - If we didn't have the hard times, the good times would not be as good!  Laughter helps!

We all have those "sigh" days. Today, however, was a great day.  My doctor's visit was GREAT...my heart is OK and no sign of mini strokes (like I was told I had)....life is good.  Now to take care of this small tumor on my adrenal gland...and I'll be even better.

This post made me smile...thanks for that!

Hi Gary:

I think we all have blue days....

But I've got to say, when the sun is shinging, it just gets me in a good mood quickly.

Gary...

We had a bittersweet day today, moving from our palatial office into a more affordable and more reasonable space. It was a lot of work, and I'm tired! And a little bluesy too!

Gary, Too many times we must put on a brave smile just to get through some days...and learning to find humor when we are at our lowest helps to overcome the feeling of helplessness. I tell myself...this is a test, this is only a test...

Wow...I almost feel like you've been following me around the past week. We finally had sun today and are supposed to have more over the next few days, but am I feeling happy? Nope! You're right, though. Get out there and laugh. Hoping to do that over and over and over again...

Gary, I'm sorry your feeling blue.  I've had a similar day. I had the same thing happen today from a seriously low appraisal.  I am sad for my client who just delievered her new baby today. I have to tell her tomorrow she can't have the home she really wants. Somehow it gives me comfort to know I am not alone in my thoughts right now.

Your post helped me tonight, thank you for sharing your thoughts and saying"Find those in your life that bring cheer to you. Beg them that you need their services NOW. The real givers will give their cheer and hugs and love to you freely. They are like your little angels"

I was thinking who am I going to call tomorrow, and at that moment my cocker spaniel CJ jumped up and curled up next to me. He feels my distress and sadness. It appears my angel has arrived . He truly expects nothing and give so much in return. Thank God for dogs....

Tomorrows another day...
