SO I CALLED MY MORTGAGE BROKER...

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

So I called my mortgage broker the other day.  It was quite painless...

My wife and I have been looking for a home here in Naperville the last two months.  So far it has been very casual.  Mostly online searching, but we have looked at a few...

Ready to take the next step, I called my mortgage broker the other day...

He took a look at our credit reports and made a couple recommendations to improve our scores.  He also gave me an idea of what we could be approved for this fall...

Nickie and I are close to making our dream a reality.  Buying a home in Naperville...

So if you are considering buying this year, stop dragging your feet.  Contact a mortgage broker.  Get the process started...

Until you get preapproved, you won't know if you are a buyer, or really just looking...

My wife and I just found out we will be buyers this year...

Ken, Congratulations on getting that squared away and on your future purchase! Something that normally is painless is sometimes hard for new buyers to see it as such. Regards,

Pre-approval is step number 1.  Not getting pre-approval reminds me of the time I went into Tiffany's "window shopping". My nephew casually sat in the seat where you get  waited upon to try on world's most precious gems and whipped out a deck of playing cards to entertain himself while I browsed. I did my ten minute stimulating peek of carots and price tag but I would never have taken the time of  the salesperson because I had no intention of buying that day.

Once a customer has pre-approval, I would be glad to show him "everything in the store" in his price meeting his criteria!

Ken how does it feel to be in your buyers shoes? Its the first step I recommend to all of my buyers is to get preapproved without it you have no foundation.

Hi Marney.  Thanks so much.

I will be getting the tax credit.  Kind of fell into my lap.  Sold in August 2006, buy in October 2009.

Works great!

Thanks again,

Sometimes in the whirlwind of our lives we put ourselves on the back burner way too long.It is exciting to see you put your family's needs right up there with your clients!

I think it is a fantastic time to become a homeowner. Talk about buying on sale.

The important thing with buying today is to talk with a full time lender who can and will work with buyers as long as the process takes. Sometimes that means starting on a credit repair process that will raise the credit scores or sometimes it means moving debt to lower monthly cost options in order to bring ratio's into line. These are things that can take time. If the need is there and the contract is already written before talking to a qualfied lender the deal could end up in the circular file before you know it.

Keep up the good work and the top notch posts!

Hi Ken... I know a good real estate agent up in Naperville if you need one... oh wait, I just remembered, it's you!  As Gilda Radner used to say in her role as Emily Litella on SNL... "Nevermind!"

Good luck on the purchase of your new home!
