There is always people walking around our quaint downtown. Give a wave, they'll wave back. The fire whistle still goes off at noon everyday, reminding you to take a break. You could always stop at the fire house and find out what's going on in town.
We have parades for everything. If you have never been to a small town parade, you are missing out. Lots of happy kids and old folks in classic cars. The girl scouts and sports teams throw candy out to the little ones. Our 4th of July celebration starts first thing in the morning and goes until late at night. Don't miss the lawnmower races at the park.
Smyrna is a great place to raise kids. The school district holds a rating of "Superior" from the state. You can go to http://smyrna.k12.de.us to see our schools. We are growing rapidly but still hold our small town feel. A couple of years ago, we made the 100 best small towns to live list, and we are proud.
