Volunteer Houston Bay Area offers The Commanders Program during the summer days for teens aged 13-17.  Participants will learn about volunteerism through classroom activities and community service projects.  Communication skills, teamwork, and volunteer opportunities in the nonprofit sector will be taught.  This program offers the community service hours for credit appeal, graduation requirements, and college applications.  A certificate of completion verifying 20 hours of service will be given for sessions June 20-24 and July 20-24, 2009.  The fee is $60 with scholarships available.  Call 281-282-6035 or email jackieg@volunteerhouston.org .
