How does a mother get her teenage son to spend time with her? We find a common attraction and with us that is hockey.
My favourite hockey player growing up was Bobby Orr, and after my son, he still is my favourite. Matt is an avid hockey player and a defenseman to boot. I was able to combine both. Matt and I, along with a friend of his and his mom, went to Parry Sound Ontario and visited the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame. We had a great time. We played some target hockey games where I learned I am not a very good shooter. Matt on the other hand could hit whatever target lit up. I could only hit the ones on the lowest level. We played a virtual target game and again where Matt could hit the targets up high I was lucky if I just hit the screen. However, I am proud to say that I did beat him in a game of table top hockey. He of course says that he wasn't really trying and he was busy texting at the same time. I will still take the win.
After the museum we toured around Bala and Lake Muskoka. We had never been up north in the spring before. Seeing the snow and ice still on the water was a beautiful sight. The day was perfect for walking around. Our friends had never been to this area before so it was fun showing them around. If you are ever looking for somewhere to holiday, the Muskoka area is beautiful in all seasons. Below are some pictures of our day. We all had a great time and are looking forward to our next Mother and Son adventure.
