While on the North Shore yesterday I noticed the Army flying around....currently they are training with all ground crew on 12 hour shifts (my son in law) ..... what a clear day....with the view of the chopper. Wonderful!
Even as an adult I often stop and watch those copters - I always thought they were so cool.

Wow! Great shot! I absolutely adore helicoptors and it's my dream to learn to fly one. I used to be able to identify all the models - even foreign makes, but they modify them so much these days it's getting harder to know. But I agree with Jim (above), this is definitely a Chinook. Could be a 46 or 47 even...

Hi Sally!yeap, we have enjoyed some gorgeous views here on Maui, as well, after a very capricious winter. I should go take a picture of Molokai, it is so clear today and you can see the island so green and mountaneous!
My husband liked this photo.......he is with Honeywell and he loves helecopters......anything to do wtih them. I could feel the sun and wind on the beach........ahhhh.....thanks for the nice Sunday break!

The way you've captured this shot, the rotors don't even look like they're turning - gives it a floating look. :)
