FHA Loans, VA Loans, USDA Loans, Conventional Loans, Eugene, Springfield, Oregon, Lane County, $8000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit and mortgages. All of these are search terms used to find what you are looking for on the internet. They will give you a list of websites set up to answer questions and direct you to a place to start your loan application process. However, the thing that upsets me is that many of those websites are only mining customers to be sold in lists to people like me….like me, not me.

One of the things about my website that is different than a lot of the ones found in a search is that it gives you information about me. My name is on my website. My phone number is on my website. My e-mail address is on my website. My website is used to give my readers information and, if they think I am the best person to help them, get them in touch with me for the purpose of putting a loan application together. It really irritates me when I go to a website and find all kinds of information but nothing about who did it. No company name, no individual name, no phone number and no email address, just a form to fill out for more information.

Another thing that makes me a bit upset is when I go to one of those websites and I see a blog posting that is one that I wrote. Now, they are good enough (most of the time) to provide a link to the original posting, but it is driving traffic to their website to read information that I wrote. Interesting conundrum, isn’t it?

So, if you want a real person that is in a real place that makes real loans to real customers, give me a try. I am a mortgage professional and I look forward to meeting my customers either in person, by phone or on the internet, but meet we will. I am available for consultation on almost any loan product in Oregon, Washington or California. Government loans (FHA, VA, USDA) are my specialties, but I am competent is conventional loans also. Visit me on my website,  http://eugeneloanguy.com and see if you know it is me.

I too have seen this all the time - many sites are VERY misleading. Next thing people know, they are getting calls from a dozen lenders at all hours of the day. That is fine if that is what you expect, but I'd have to think most people are not conscience that they are opting into these "fake" sites and that they will get tons of calls and e-mails.

Fred, I find it so annoying that these websites collect people's names and then try to sell them back to us!!!!!!  I have worked years getting my site to the first page of Google and have made it but there's only usually 2 to 4 of us on the front page that are actually real estate agents.

Fred...you really are real? How cool! The web is something...and I know I'm not getting my fair share of what I should be. I hope to get a handle on it this year, the real estate gods willing to keep me going!

Thanks for the post!

Steve - I see this so often that it really makes me sad. I have google alerts set for certain things and when the show up for one of these websites, it ticks me off.

Marchel - You are right about that, way too many non people out there.

Thom - You bet I am real. Great to see you stopping by, I have missed your comments, of course it could be because I have been remiss on my posts too. LOL

Same can be said for the endless number of realtor lead websites, most of which treat visitors the same way.

Right you are Greg. Not just lenders, there are lead gatherers in all phases in this business.

Thesa - Thanks, I appreciate that. Your site is pretty special too.

I agree you have to have your contact information on every post and every page! I have been working on this on my website, but it has been a long process. If you notice all my posts have my contact information at the bottom and I want to make sure they come to me for the business.
