TLW is having "Growing Older Pains" and I'm not having it!*

I don't know about you but I believe there's much more fun and adventure ahead for TLW and all the other kids that hang out here on Active Rain.  There are a number of "Older Kids" like myself that will have to prove them wrong. If you are one of the Older Kids, please share (only) the good things that lie ahead for these lucky kids.

Help me spread the word.  Tell them about the things that you have done in your "Golden Years".  Don't forget to include all the things you are planning to do.  If you're not planning anything and you still have plenty of brain cells left make up something extreme.  Give the kids a thrill, something to look forward to while the years quickly speed by.

It is up to us to give hope to those coming along.  For some reason or another it seems to be inevitable.  People grow old or we all know the alternative and we don't want that.

For my contribution I have to go back three years to when I was only 68.  I spent three weeks trekking around  China and Tibet, something I have wanted to do since I was a child.  Shortly after that I went south to Mississippi as a Red Cross Katrina volunteer.  That took care of another three weeks.  There was still time to fit in a couple of small trips along with a major journey to Argentina and Antarctica.  Crossing the turbulent Drake Passage in a small ship, getting in and out of zodiacs, hiking around on snow and rocks was plenty adventuous for all of us young and old alike.

Believe me, there's more fun in store for this Older Kid.
