Home and garden tours are currently in full swing throughout San Diego County. With our Mediterranean climate where virtually anything will grow, there is a lot of variety on these tours, including not only gardens, but homes, art studios, refreshment, and entertainment.
Following are four tours for the upcoming weekend of May 9-10.
Fallbrook Country Garden Tour Sponsored by the Fallbrook Banch of the American Association of University Women. May 9, Noon to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased the day of the event at the Palomares House, where the stour starts, at 1815 Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook. Information: 760-451-9532
- Secret Garden Tour of Old La Jolla
Sponsored by the La Jolla Historical Society. Includes music and displays, and gardens remain secret until tour day. May 9, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Platinum Tour tickets are $140 for members, $150 for non-members, which includes shuttle transportation and other bonuses. Mission Hills Garden Walk Sponsored by Mission Hills Garden Club Fourteen gardens illustrating low water use, starting at Missoin Hills Nursery on Fort Stockton Drive in Mission Hills. May 9, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at Mission Hills Nursery, Cedros Gardens in Solana Beach, or Walter Andersen Nursey in Point Loma. Tickets are $25 on the day of the event and can only be purchased at Mission Hills Nursery. Information and tickets available at missionhillsgardenclub.org or 619-923-3624.
- Artist Studio and Garden Tour
Sponsored by San Dieguito Art Guild Visit the homes, gardens, and studios of San Dieguito Art Guild members. Art for sale, as well as refreshments and entertainment. May 9-10, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Off Track Gallery, 687 S. Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas. Tickets and information at offtrackgallery.com
