Gail, I love macro shots and the way the DOF is completely obscured. Thorny little thing. Rich

Good Morning Gail-Stunning pic. Looks so different and much prettier than the thistle I have seen. This is a magnified look. You just keep getting better and better. You will have two professions inside of one. Have  a super Weds. <SMILE>

Both beautiful and very intimidating.  And I actually touched my screen to wipe the spider web off.  Didn't work mind you, but I tried.

Morning Kevin, thank you....I appreciate the compliment, wishing you a great day as well.

Thanks Rich....I like the DOF in this shot as well.  I was using the 100-400, probably at the shortest distance.  I'm pleased with this picture :-)

Hi Gita....Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it...makes taking them worthwhile!

Morning Gail....Thank you and the pleasure of sharing is all mine :-)

LOL @Sharon....you are very right as the entire bush was not very attractive, but it's top is the icing on the proverbial plant.

LOL @TammyToothbrush.....I will take that as the ultimate compliment.  I'll see you later :-)

Hi Toula....thanks a bunch, I'm happy with this one too...I'm learning as I go along.

Morning Caren, I'm finding with photography that, while practice doesn't make perfect quickly....the more I do the more I see what could be (does that make sense ;-)

Russell....hahahaha, I was having fun with the title as well.  You should be happy I didn't pick "this is thorny thistle"....see what I mean.  Boy, you're up early again, you must be a 6:00 o'clocker like me...even though I prefer 7:00am

Hi John....you're very welcome, thanks a bunch for stopping by...always appreciated.

Hi Gail: This is a magnificent photo! I love the colors and the close-up of it. Wouldn't want to touch that little baby, that would hurt!

Have a great day,

Gail, that is just beautiful.  My son thought it looked like a cactus at first. I love those colors.

Morning Don....and you always make me feel so good about them, thanks!

Hi Anne...I feel the same about your SunFlowers, you do marvelous work :-)

Hi Craig...good to see that you've recovered from Cinco de Mayo and look no worse for the wear.  You always make me laugh and I'm always happy to see you.

Thanks Jess, I found the dichotomy between the bush and it's flower just amazing.

Michael, thank you so much!  It's amazing what close-ups can reveal (as long as I'm not the subject ;-)

Ah Tad, if only it paid....but I certainly enjoy your compliment....big smiles.

Hi Tony, and thank you for taking the time to enjoy it and comment...always appreciated.

Hi Jim, yes after getting a real good look at the whole plant, I can see why you would feel that way....LOL

Debi, what a nice thing to say and I hastily add....I couldn't have gotten here without you.  You're a wonderful, caring, sharing friend and I love you :-)

LOL @Debra....you are in a frenetic state today, did you drink the Kool-Aid ;-)  Thanks so very much for all your time spent with this post.  Reminds me of a more conservative song
