Four Hundred Posts!

Wow, that's a lot.

Four hundred gallons of water weights 3,200 lbs.

This is a photo of a 400 square foot home.

400 days is a little over a year.

There must be 400 ways to leave your lover. (No, wait... I don't think that's right... Paul Simon would have to sing that eight times)

The year 400 was a Leap year, and the Franks invaded the area now known as Holland.

Here was my first attempt at blogging. Way back in september of last year. Lame to the max.

I plodded along.

then my first re-blog. Which was inspired by Greg Nino's "I lost a listing to a Big-Boobed Realtor".   My favourite post... (although the public doesn't agree).

My first feature.  I thought there were plenty of posts more worthy prior to this one... but I guess it was topical. Then came my first notification from an outside source that I was infringing on a photo copyright... and take the offending photo down immediately (which I did)... and then I sat in the darkened room for 72 hours, turning the lights on and off like morse code.

Travelblogue. The reason for Turkey.  wow... I've been busy, and all over the boards, hAven't I?  My first bonus points.

My second feature... and a perennial favourite with the public.  97 comments!!   Ohmigod... I'm joking.

Meme-ed! Some bad photos. My daughters enter the fray.  I learn how to insert video... there's no stopping me now.  (I know you'd like to figuRe out how... but HA!)   An uplifting moment in an otherwise downward spiral.

Acknowledgment.  There's never enough recognition, is there?

Meme-ed to death! ... and then there's Superman!  and math is not my strong suit, mmmmkay?

There... that's 400 seconds of your life that you won't get back.... (insert maniacal laughter here).  how about a breath mint?

Wow! 400 posts! And to think I subscribed to you blog when you had only about 250!

I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Oh, and I concur, your first post was lame!!! But so was mine. It's all part of the learning curve.

Lastly, you missed one piece of information on the number 400. Pictured below is part #400 for the Sonfarrel Tornado Pool and Spa motor. It's available at your local Spa dealer for only $2.47!!!

Oh, but Alan, my friend, think of how scary it would be if you didn't have that part!!!

Could you imagine this scene?

"Sorry guys, I have to cancel the hot tub party this weekend. My Sonfarrel Thunder part #400 didn't arrive as planned."

Now that's scary!!!

Alan...Congrats...I think many people start out that way, on the scared part.  I still am, but I am going to try to do better this year!

Craig - especiallly if the part is the one that makes the bubble... I don't want to be able to see below the water line. eeeeewwwwwwwww.

Vern - huh?  Many people start out "what" way?  the part I was scared of, was the photo that Craig is showing.

Alfonse - You know what, I've been visiting your blog for so long and reading through it, commenting to you, and having a great time - in all that time, I never looked at your archive list and realized you had only started blogging here in September.  I thought you were here when they built the place.  Funny what you don't know about people sometimes.

Alan... What a long strange trip it's been. You are indeed all over the board, that is why we have to stop by to see what today has brought us. Keep surprising your readers and we'll keep coming back..congrats my friend.

in some ways, Matt, I feel as though I was here when they built the place.  in other ways, I still feel very much the newbie.

Steve - what a long strange trip it's been indeed.  I like to keep my readership on it's toes and entertained.  we are all professional real estate people (Realtors, Agents, Appraisers, Inspectors, Loan Officers)... we live, breathe and die real estate in and out very day.  We don't need, 24/7 from me, in more real estate.

Dang!!! I remember when we first met...you are cranking them out my friend and you always maintain quality along with some seriously funny views! I am only at 71 posts because I just am not as gifted or as focused for sure! Congrats and I look forward to reading you more in the future!

BTW...that GW picture reminds me of Alfred E. Newman!

Oh and I went through the copywrite thing once, haha. Guy was very nice. My understanding of copyright law was very off mark. He very politely referred me to a good source to read up on. Maybe I'll blog on it and make Lenn proud ;)

Alan - You and your plethora of profile pics keep us all on our toes, that's for sure.  I predict you'll eclipse 800 before 2010 rears its head.  You are one of my more enjoyable reads, my friend.

What a great walk down memory lane with you. Had to check out some of your links and wasted too much time laughting at the comments on Greg Nino's Post.  Your daughter is beautiful and your Blog is delightful.  Here's to the next 400!

Alan, why...... you little speed demon, you are smoking me behind on this blogging thing. Next month I will have been here 1 year with only 255 posts as of today. That is almost twice of what I have, and in half the time. "THE BLOG MAESTRO".

Russell - I too, remember our first encounter... fondly... but I had to give you up... the cigarettes were giving me a nasty cough. Besides, what would we tell our wives?

Steve - thanx... but if you'll note, some of those posts came well after I'd been here a while.. so not sure all of them count.  And the copyright thing was a bit scary.  The guy was very pleasant... (not like the call you'll get from Lenn)... he simply explained that they belonged to him, asked me to take them down... and they hit the ground faster than an ugly gown on prom night.

Rebecca - thankyew, thankyewverymuch.

Jason - thankyew... and thanks for infusing my post with the word "plethora"...

Janna - Greg's was a very funny post.

Roy - the "blog maestro"... I like it.

Alan George, this is an unfair post.  It took me entirely too long to check back through all those links to your blogs.  I hated not to click because I might have missed something.  You are one funny guy but I must say I hate your new picture!  Even Nutsy would be better.

t'werent so much persistence, Cheryl, as it was a calling.  Y'see, I was standing in this clearing in the forest, and it started to rain.  Suddenly I heard a voice.  I says to myself "self!" ('cause that's why I calls myself)... "Self." I says.... "did you hear that voice, too?"

and the rest is history.

Barbara - but this IS Nusty!

Wow....you passed me a while back - you are prolific AND talented AND entertaining...but I seriously wish you wouldn't keep changing your photo - I don't recognize you when I scan the list - and miss reading you more often then not!.........You're having an identity crisis I'm thinking! :-) Besides,  I like your mug shot.
