26 Comments on Wordless Wednesday--Beautiful Blooms!
Teri, What gorgeous blooms...I can't believe how BIG they are.
Teri,
What gorgeous orchids - such a beautiful, rich color. Very elegant. :)
Steve
Teri - Those flowers are so beautiful, I want to reach out and touch them :)
Joan--They are beautiful aren't they?
Anna--When I get a great photo, I will try to post! :)
Cynthia--They are extraordinary in person as well. Thanks!
Andrea--Agreed! They are easy to photo too as they are pretty good subjects and wait patiently while I adjust for the perfect shot.
Terry--I can take photos of beautiful flowers but not so successful when it comes to growing them either. :)
Justin--They were! And they had grown kind of out into the walkway so you could not avoid seeing them either.
Carole--Why thank you...They were unbelievable. I usually just go for the eyepopping color...This time had to take size into consideration as the subject matter too.
Steve--Thank you for telling me that the big white flowers are orchids. I wasn't sure because I was always told they were delicate...These look pretty hearty to me. :)
Jennifer--These beauties wanted to reach out and touch people too as they were growing right over a bench and into the walkway. Glad you enjoyed the photo!
Teri
Beautiful photos. Flowers really bring out the best in people.
Teri,
Those are beautiful. What are they?
Ann
I used to raise orchids like these...it takes a special combination of sunlight and moisture but they sure are beautiful. I like how you watermarked/signed your photo. What program do you use?
Tom--The Como Park Conservatory is a wonderful place to walk through and just take in all the beauty. I agree, as no matter how crowded it is in this building, people are always so upbeat as they stroll through.
Ann--I am going to have to take Steve and Diane's word for it as they both referred to them as orchids...note I called them big white flowers. :)
Diane--I use Microsoft Picture It and just add text to the photos. I started doing this about a year ago when I noticed several google image searches for particular photos. Figured I'd try to deter photo theft a bit as now they will have to crop off my name. :)
Teri,
Whatever they are, they are beautiful.
Ann
Orchids used to be very difficult to grow, but plant geneticists and orchid breeds have created many new orchids that can easily be grown inside. There are many people here who grow orchids outside. All they need is some dappled sunlight/shade, good-draining soil, some fertilizer, and some tender loving care. Under trees and the north side of the house are best.
