Temple Valley Hawaii

The Byodo-In Temple at the Valley of the Temple Memorial Park was established on June 7, 1968 to commemorate the first of the Japanese immigrants to Hawaii....and built entirely WITHOUT nails. This temple was constructed as a replica of a temple constructed over 900 years ago in Uji, Japan.

The Byodo-In  Temple translates "Temple of Equality - not to discriminate".

The temple is the home to  a golden Buddha Amida and thought to be the largest figure (standing 18 feet) carved since ancient times.

We stood at the temple peering up at this tall Buddha.  I bowed to show respect and thought about how peaceful yet profound the statement of this Buddha made.

Temple of Equality - not to discriminate.

buddhaHawaii is so diverse with so many different ethnicities and so rich in many cultures that it is surely an island paradise within itself. A pleasant way to live from day to day; with hardly a batting eyelash because of a skin color or different language being spoken.

The Real Estate Industry is the same. We have so many different "cultures" within the industry (loan officers, title and escrow, home inspectors, stagers, virtual assistants and so on) that the richness lies within each of us who contribute to succeed with a common denominator in mind.

....That the client is happy with our services and we have done our jobs well and gone past the above and beyond to ensure a successful closing.

A Shangri-La is a mystical place. An earthy paradise that is isolated from the rest of the world.  Within each home a seller sells or a buyer purchases they are looking to us for guidance.  We work as a team an there is no other industry like the Real Estate Industry  and it's us that makes this Shangi-La happen.

My Shangri -La is that temple of equality with all of us working together for that common goal.

"We need to tell the world what we do...how we do it...and why we are vital to the industry."

Sally- I can feel the serenity as you tell the story. I never went to the Temple garden when I lived in Hawaii but I did go to Japan a few times. I went to Kyoto where the cherry blossoms surround the temples. It was a fascinating experience and very serene.

Sally - What a beautiful setting and perfect for the sentiments expressed in your post ... I love the way the clouds caress the mountain top in the background. This picture reminds me of the pictures my mom took in Japan when she visited there for the Olympics in 1970 ...

Sally, Oh, I would LOVE to see this in person...it is spectacular.  They even positioned it right with Water in the Front and a Mountain at your back.  What an amazing place this must be, thank you for sharing it.

Katerina: I lived in Japan when I was in elementary school. We could see Mt. Fuji and during the spring the snow capped mountain with cherry blosson trees all around.

Kathy: And we got lucky....they built it right here for us to enjoy....brought back memories...I don't think I'd been there since 6th grade. I remember I had on a hot red hibiscus muumuu and my dad taking a pic on the bridge leading in....

That is a beautiful scene, and it has a great sense of tranquility.  Liked the way you drew real estate into the word picture you were painting.
