Onslow County NC Schools - How Do I Enroll My Child?

Have you just relocated to Camp LeJeune Marine Base, New River Air Station or the Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune? Or did your job Swansboro High School bring you to Jacksonville, Swansboro, Hubert, Richlands or Maysville NC? If the answer is "Yes", you may have questions concering getting your child (ren) enrolled in school.

1. A parent or legal guardian (appointed by court) is the only person who can enroll a student.

2. Documentation required at time of enrollment

Certified Birth Certificate
Immunization Record
Social Security Card (if available)
Proof of Residence
- Current water, gas or electric bill
- Notorized statement signed by person with whom you and your child are living - address must be included
Photo Identification of Parent or Guardian
School Withdrawal/Transfer Sheet (for In-County transfers)
Custody Papers (if applicable)

Cynthia great list, some people do not have a clue what is required to get their child enroll in school.. This checklist will prove helpful.

Amazing how times change, I would never have guessed you needed all that just to enroll your child in school :) How time has flown for your little one.....now the fun of homework starts LOL :) You 've provided some good info here for people enrolling their kids.

Cynthia: This is a really helpful post. My market is primarily a second home market so schools don't really come up much but when they do, it would be nice to have a resource like your blog to go to. I'll have to consider writing one.
