Presents
THE SISTERS ROSENSWEIG
I must confess I didn't know anything about this play. Thankfully the Internet provides for an instant education in just about anything we need, so here is a brief synopsis. This play will emote with humorous insight into our quest for love, self-definition and fulfillment, as well as touching on the social and political issues taking place in the 1980's.
This Tony winning production, written by Wendy Wasserstein opened in New York in 1992. It is the story of 3 Jewish-American sisters who meet for a reunion in London for the eldest sister Sara's 54th birthday. Each sister is forced to examine their lives and how they define themselves. It's a drama lightened with moments of whimsy and merriment, and while rich in American Jewish culture remains emotionally accessible to all!
To put this play in another perspective it has been called a sort of Jewish "Steel Magnolias"
