While I may not have had tons of closings since my start as an agent here in Charlotte, I did want to share one piece of invaluable advise I learned from a 'top-dollar' producer in our office. He told me that he gives each client a closing gift, regardless of whether they were the seller or the buyer. I thought to myself, "That's not rocket science." But it was actually the gift itself that was interesting. It was a 1-year subscription to "Our State" magazine, which features wonderful pictures, events, and articles about all of the great things going on in North Carolina. It is especially great for clients who have just moved from out of state, but provides interesting information for native North Carolinians as well. When the first issue is mailed to my client, a card is attached to let them know that I will be sending them copies of the magazine for a year. The cost for the subscription is minimal, but I believe the impact is great.

So, not only have I started offering this wonderful magazine to all of my clients, but I too have subscribed to "Our State" as well. I've cooked a recipe out of one of the previous issues, and have taken a day-trip based on something I saw in the magazine. I would like to think that if this magazine has had an impact on my life, then hopefully it has sparked something in my client's lives as well.

Now don't he sad if you are not an agent in the fine state of North Carolina. I would suggest investigating to see if your state has its own magazine and offer it to your clients as well. If a state magazine is not available, then perhaps there is a local magazine that is just as interesting that would be of interest to your clients.
