Sellers! Make It Crystal Clear to Home Buyers!

Many homes have quirks, odd areas or challenging floor plans that can cause buyers to say “what were they thinking?” or “that’s odd”!  When showing your home for sale, these are the last thoughts you want to be going through buyers’ minds!  Over 90% of home buyers cannot visualize the potential of a room.  They see only what is.  Additionally, over 85% of buyers are looking at photos on the internet first – if the rooms look odd, they won’t make an appointment to view the home!

Armed with this information, a professional home stager will turn these quirks into features so buyers will have a clear and favorable impression!

the bowling alley living roomThis two bedroom home had great features, but the living room was only a little over 9 feet wide and REALLY   L O N G!  Buyers could not figure out how they would arrange their furniture or optimize the space.  By bringing in a few pieces of furniture, these questions are answered for them.

By dividing this long awkward space into two areas, buyers will now be able to “see” the potential of separating the room to serve two purposes.  They can imagine a cozy reading corner or perhaps a sunny space for their desk.

Even a few pieces of furniture added to a space can give buyers ideas on how they would use a room.  With so many vacant homes on the market, light staging sets the home apart on the internet and in person!  This option is affordable and important in a buyers market!

Great advice Margaret.  If they have to wonder, they won't have time to notice the positive features.  I say give them absolutely nothing to dislike or wonder about, so that they can fall in love with your house!  Thanks for sharing your before and after photos.  Keep up your fabulous work.

So cute now! You were not only able to show the furniture in the living room, but also placed a TV; and isn't that what we really need? Thank goodness for flat screen TV's, they fit in tiny spaces! The kitchen is really brightened up by your staging, too. Quite Nice.

Thanks Jim & David - You're right people CAN"T visualize.

Connie - it was one of those rooms that you enter and go how would I ever get furniture in here -- after many showings with that type of comments it was important to get staging in there quickly!

Lori - I agree - people are looking for a great deal, but really want a home to fall in love with.  I know my daughter in her early 20's would LOVE this place now!

Cathy - Thanks - you would have done the same!

Peg - You're absolutely right - everyone wondered where to put the TV - it was the big question.  So I brought in a bigone and showed them it could be done easily!
