There have been times where we all get a phone call in the wee hours of the morning or wee hours of the night. A call for solicitation. I really don't want to hear that they want to make sure I know what the program is all about....when I haven't had my first cup of coffee.

In Hawaii WE ARE BEHIND pacific time (3 hours), behind central (4 hours) and behind eastern (6 hours) time zones. We do not have daylight savings time so OUR TIME DOES NOT CHANGE.

Please be Cognizant of others time zones when calling people..... Moreso, follow the ActiveRain guidelines if you're a member:

Do not send unsolicited emails, or faxes, or make unsolicited phone calls to another member.

 Otherwise, please respect others...

And for those who really need this for hyper awareness......

This is why I love my email going onto my Blackberry.    I get to call back in a timely manner (for me!).    Like you, my time zone is approx. 3 to 4 hours behind the busy people in the east/midwest.

Sally,

That has got to be tough. I know we get calls from the Pacific Time Zone and they don't have a clue they're calling 3 hours ahead. I can on;y imagine how inconvenient it is for you. :)

Hey Li: I was up this morning but geez...let me have some coffee...on top of that...I don't like being solicited at any time anyway...speaking of which...I don't cold call people to sell or buy either.

Steve: It's like we're stuck out here ....for instance...like with blogging....by time I get back on at night you folks in Florida are going night night....by time I get on in the morning you folks are having lunch :)

I think a lot of the telemarketers in California have no idea what time zones are, much less that this side of the country is in a different one.

JL: Well, I can say the same about the east coast and us. I got a call at 5:50am ....and needless to say...I had just gotten out of the shower and hadn't even had my first sip of coffee. Will I call the guy back. No.

Hi Sally - I've been to Hawaii many times and I know that "Hawaiian Time' is totally dependent on the surf conditions!!!! :-) Hope you have a great weekend!

Sally...

I tend to keep those differences in mind, especially for you and Jesse in Alaska, it's something that we ALL need to be aware of when calling.

This is part of the reason I rarely "speak" to my friends in Hawaii.  I often have a bit of free time in the morning, but it just doesn't work.

In this global world, we need to try to be very cognizant of the different time zones.
