The Older I Get The More Beautiful My Mother Becomes - My Mother's Day Tribute

We haven't always been close - its been a bit of a roller coaster ride at times but one thing I can say - the older I get the More Beautiful my Mother Becomes. We are closer now then we've ever been - and I have so much appreciation and a better understanding of the person she is - and what she has contributed to my life.

Life flits by so quickly - but one thing about getting older - is it creates more memories! And you constantly unfold new ones - they're tucked here and there like pressed flowers in an old book.

I'm so fortunate to still have both my parents with me and close by ~ and as I sit here today and ponder my own road of Motherhood I realize I have so very much to be grateful for.

My folks immigrated from the former Yugoslavia when I was only 11 months old......they came to Canada because they wanted a better life for me....and so many of their goals and dreams revolved around me.........they left behind family and friends to start all over - for the hope of a new and better future....

One thing I always knew - was that I was truly loved by my Mom. And if I ever was in trouble or needed help - there was always a place to come home to.

Mom thank you for all the love, sacrifice, advice, worrying, for being such a great grandmother, for your sleepless nights,your amazing cooking, worrying, caring, stories, worrying, babysitting, support, worrying.......I love you & Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Liz~ It is amazing how much mom's so willingly do for their children. It sound like your's truly sacrificed much to make your life better!

Great photo's ; your mother is beautiful. all the things she has done to create memories is so good. Its good to have a good mom.

I've always been super close to my mom and my daughter. (of course we've had our moments). I am so happy that you are close to your mother now. It's a lovely tribute to her Liz and great photos. Weren't you just the cutie when you were little? And now you are beautiful, just like your mom.

:iz, I loved the photos....wish I had some old ones scanned in. My memories of growing up are all wonderful and I too felt very fortunate today to still have my mother with me.

Carole - I'm so glad for you too! I put together a scrapbook for my mom...........i love those black and whites! :-)
